General Boarding Information

BOARDING RESERVATIONS

  • Reserve well in advance. Holiday and summer boarding is very busy and does fill up quickly.
  • We require a 24-hour notification for cancellations of any of our services. Exceptions and charges are at our discretion.

  • The first time you board, you will be asked to provide your contact information and a complete profile for your pet. For each consequent visit, you will be asked to provide updates about your pet’s health, arrival and departure dates and contact information for the time you’ll be away.
  • If you’ve never boarded your pet before and your first trip will be a lengthy one, we recommend you consider booking your pet for a one-night stay as early as possible, or book a playdate so they can experience our facility and caregivers.
  • We accept cash, cheques and debit cards.
  • Our prices, policies, services and hours are non-negotiable and subject to change without notice.

HEALTH SAFETY

  • Health and safety is our number one priority. All pets must have a current Pet Profile on file with us.
  • Pets must be in good health and not exposed to any contagious or communicable illness within a 30-day period prior to check in (eg. lice, fleas, kennel cough).
  • We accept unspayed/unneutered cats and dogs. If needed they will be separated from other pets and receive special one on one playtime.
  • Guests must have a sociable temperament so that all caregivers can properly care for them. Allowances may be made for specific temperament issues, but pets cannot pose a danger to our caregivers. To give proper care/attention, they have to be separated from other dogs and therefore require special playtime.

Hwy7 Pet Retreat reserves the right to refuse admittance (at any time) for those lacking proof of vaccinations, displaying signs of untreated/potentially contagious conditions, demonstrating aggressive behaviour and/or those who failing our standard health/temperament policies.

We decline reservations for the following health and temperament instances:

  • Pets with contagious medical conditions.
  • We advise against boarding pets which are terminally ill and/or in the late stages of an illness or pets which are so incapacitated that they can’t stand up.
  • We accept diabetic pets but advise against boarding those possibly requiring constant medical attention.
  • Senior pets are accepted, providing they are healthy enough to stay with us.
  • We do not sedate pets in our care. Such request is not accommodated.
  • Aggressive dogs cannot be accommodated.
